Shri Subrata Mandal , ED NTPC Bongaigaon has been elevated as Regional Executive Director (WR-I). Shri Subrata Mandal took charge as the Chief General Manager, NTPC Bongaigaon with effect from 7th December,2020 whereby he was elevated as Executive Director.

A B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Durgapur, Shri Mandal has a rich and varied experience in handling key portfolios at NTPC Farakka, Eastern Region -I HQs Patna and NTPC Singrauli. Shri Mandal had joined NTPC as an Executive Trainee in the year 1985 and served in various areas which includes areas of Operation, Fuel Handling, Mechanical Maintenance, Centre for Power Efficiency & Environmental Protection and Operation Services of power plant.

Prior to joining NTPC Bongaigaon Shri Mandal was heading Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (A wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited) as CEO. As head of the power station, Shri Subrata Mandal will coordinate all activities of NTPC Bongaigaon Thermal Power Station, Assam generating 750 MW (3x250 MW). In his illustrious career in NTPC, Shri Mandal has undergone various training on Safety, power plant efficiency, maintenance management system and commercial aspects of NTPC.

On his elevation , employees from various departments, union and associations, HODs and senior management of the station which included Shri Umesh Singh, GM (O&M), Shri Induri Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shri Arunashis Das, GM (Projects), Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, GM (FM), Shri Sanjay Pande, GM (FGD) also felicitated Shri Mandal and wished him for all his future endeavors.
